171266960379 that's the item number for a pic of the part. I'm on my phone and useless at adding pics sorry.
I know I'd have to get 50mm and 60mm but don't understand the other sizes it's coming up with like thickness...
Hope someone can help
Thanks
Is there a cable that'll let me connect a USB drive/stick into the media port & control it from the Swing radio?
What are the options? Got no Apple devices (+ dont really want any!)
Hi, my dad is looking into getting the Fabia Estate. Very impressed by the 1.2 90 engine and spacious interior for his needs. Only niggling point is that one of the plastic isofix mounting points has ripped off and bit of inner foam exposed.
Can it be rectified via DIY of should the dealer sort this out?
I have a set of rear H/B mudflaps in original unopened packaging-free to anyone who wants to pick them up from Desborough, Northants.
A certain Czech firm sent me 2 sets of rears along with 1 set of the fronts.
So last night we fitted a new H+R RARB to my Fabia vRS Estate! Already had H+R lowering springs so thought this would be a good addition. Lots of postive reviews on here so took the plunge and ordered one. The car was fantastic fun around Castle Combe recently but still had quite a lot of body-roll to contend with despite the uprated springs so decided it was time to go for it. Dave (sharkrider) has been encouraging me to get one for awhile now haha!
My brother did the majority of the work as he is very handy at spannering and I'm definitely not so much...
Few pics of the process. We raised the back of the car on ramps to get better access:
Next step undo the bolts at the bottom of each damper:
Then attach one end of the RARB using the longer bolts provided:
Next lever the other end of the RARB into position and insert the corresponding bolt. This bit is quite tight! :
Next apply some copper grease to the rubber bushes:
Dirty boy
:
Next mount the bushes on the bar and attach them to the rear beam using the supplied clips. This bit was the hardest of the entire installation! You have to bend the clips into shape to get them to fit over the beam which isn't easy. We also then found that the bolts (M8 hex 70mm I think) supplied werent long enough to close the clip! Had to go and buy some 10mm longer ones which was a pain but did the trick...
Tightened everything up and all done!
Was quite late (and dark!) by the time we finished so only got to have a quick 10min blast in the car to check all was ok but first impressions very good! No creaks or rattels so far and the ride quality is unaffected as you would expect. Didn't notice any huge change in the handling though to be honest, allthough it was only a brief drive so too early to report back on the benefits. Will update once Ive had a chance to thrash the car some more and get stuck in to a few bends!

Evening
I've been looking at investing in some Springs for the Estate but Ideally I would like Shocks & Springs something Like Koni's
Don't really want coilovers getting old & budget under £400
Is The Hatchback the same as the Estate ?
Or does the weight mean I require different setup as not everywhere advertises what fit's the vRS Estate
Thanks
I'm thinking of getting the retrofit armrest for the front seats. the official part is around £140 which is a bit too much.
Anyone used either the official retrofit or a 3rd party armrest on the Mk3?
cheers
Hi all,
Joined up on here donkeys ago when my gf of the time had a Polo but allow me to introduce myself.
Jim, originally from Kent but now lives in Leicester and works at Silverstone circuit. In September I bought a Fabia diesel as a commuter car (track modified Volvo S60 T5 returning mid 25s mpg isn't great doing 100 miles a day and regular hacks to Kent, and the winter is too cold for the motorbike:) ).
All in I'm pretty impressed with the little thing. I've put 25k (now on 153k) on it and the thing mechanically feels pretty robust. It's actually fun going to something on soft suspension with only 100 or so hp and getting the best out of it! I've fitted some good tires (had the thing try and spin on me on the crap fitted when I bought it), changed the oil every 3 or 4 months and changed the thermostat and the thing hasn't missed a beat... It's impressed me so much I'm in the market for an old non-PD 1.9 Octavia estate if anyone knows a good one going!
Untl this morning...
when the ABS light lit up and the warning light flashing. I can confirm the ABS is no longer working... I'm assuming it is just a sensor or reluctor ring issue, but would like to know what sensor it is? My android Torque app doesn't show any faults so I would imagine it is a VAGCOM job. Does any kind soul in the Midlands or Kent (live southeast of Leicester, my Volvo mechanic is north west of Leicester, my work is at Silverstone and my parents live in Kent... so I'm all over the country quite a bit!) mind lending me 20 minutes of time on VAGCOM so I can at least isolate which wheel the car thinks is funny? It would be greatly appreciated!
P.S: On my Volvo the reluctor rings were a separate part costing approximately £3 each that fitted on the hub assembly. Am I right in thinking on the Fab they only come as part of the whole assembly?
Cheers
James
cannot get insurance quotes for the Colour Concept 1.2 TSI 90 that I'm due to collect next Tuesday as insurers don't recognise the car, not even Briskoda...
They've all heard of the new Colour EDITION variant but are shy of quoting a Colour CONCEPT.
How and where did you get your's insured please?
